Gold necklace

Love this gold seahorse necklace from Anthroplogie.  So sweet!  I can imagine wearing it with a loose tshirt and skinny jeans.

Pretty hairstyles

I think wearing your hair up looks so pretty.  I tend to wear mine down in loose waves (or that's what I aim for, anyway!) but I'm inspired to try these out as they look fairly easy to do and I like that they look kinda messy.  How about you?  Do you wear your hair up a lot?

Wooden Camera

Spotted this fab wooden toy camera on Etsy.  So adorable!  I can imagine this keeping Jamie entertained for a long time.

Emma Tissier

I love these sweet illustrations by Emma Tissier, especially the recipes!  A nice change from the normal written-out recipe.  Speaking of recipes, did you see this gorgeous recipe video?  It's definitely the nicest one I've ever seen.

Sleepy baby

Awww, this clip has had me in stitches!  I love how the big brother is completely oblivious :)

Monday Mamas: baby changing bags

Choosing and buying all the equipment for the arrival of Jamie and Alfie was so exciting.  It can get a little overwhelming (did I need a travel cot / what different types of sheets do we need for the moses basket etc), so I found the best way to get organised was to make a list of everything we needed, then start working through the list and finding what we liked either in the shops or online.  For changing bags, there are now so many gorgeous styles available.  The Storksak Sofia is absolutely beautiful (but pricey, at £250!), however, I'm certain it would be used long after your little one outgrows it.  The Maclaren Field bag is available here, and the cute spotty bag is from Cath Kidston.

For you Dads, there are some gorgeous bags too :-

The Storksak Jamie bag, (comes in a gorgeous dark brown, too) available here

and the OiOi Messenger bag, (I love this, so cool)

What are your recommendations?  Do you have a favourite baby bag you love?

Butterflies + Fridays

I think butterflies are so pretty aren't they?  I have memories of visiting a butterfly sanctuary when I was a little girl, and entering a room where the butterflies were flying around freely, and landing on peoples heads!  I got a butterfly-topped wand from there that I played with for ages and ages.

I now have some lovely little white butterflies that I have decorated our Christmas tree with before - so pretty and different.  I've seen do many butterfly adorned things recently; I adore the tea towel above which I think would be perfect for prettying up a kitchen.

What are you up to this bank holiday weekend?  We are having our new fireplace fitted which I'm very excited about (!), but other than that we haven't really made any plans, I think we'll just see what happens :)

Have a great weekend!

Hollywood Portraits

I think these portraits of old Hollywood stars are just beautiful.  The National Portrait Gallery has an exhibition of nearly 70 of these studio shots, showing until 23 October.  I can't think of a more glamorous way to spend an afternoon.

Gorgeous gift wrap

Can you believe these are sheets of wrapping paper?!  They're almost too pretty to use.  It would be so lovely to receive a gift wrapped up in wrapping paper like this.  Beautiful.

Earrings

There are some really pretty earrings around at the moment, I think these ones are sweet.  Find them here and here.

Monday Mamas: Saturday mornings with Jamie

Me and Jamie have a little routine on a Saturday morning: We have something yummy for breakfast or a mid-morning snack.  This weekend, we got up, had some breakfast, got dressed and played, then once Alfie went to bed for his nap, we warmed these delicious chocolate croissants in the oven.  (Jamie definitely takes after me in the chocolate-liking department!)

We sat down to eat these at the table; Jamie had his with a glass of milk, me with a cappuccino.  I think Jamie loves this because it is something just the two of us do, and I think that's so important, especially when there's more than one little one in the house.

p.s These were the best tasting croissants I have ever had - so chocolatey!

Have a lovely weekend

What are you up to this weekend?  I'm hoping the weather stays okay then we can squeeze a few walks in.  I'm also in the mood for making something yummy - this baked cannelloni recipe looks delicious.

Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy yourself.

Coffee ❤

I really like the look of coffee makers like this.  I love coffees and cappuccinos, but am clueless as to what the best coffees are or what granules to buy.  I think I need to do some research.  This lovely model is available from Dualit.

Autumn looks

I know, I know, Summer isn't over yet, but I don't think it's too early to be looking clothing for the upcoming chillier months.  I'm always on the lookout for a lovely coat (the pretty one in the top image is my favourite).  The jewel colours seem just right for the time of year when the air turns a little crisper, and the leaves start crunching underfoot.

Floral tiles

Oh my goodness aren't these floral tiles so pretty?  I think they would look adorable either on their own, or grouped together as a splashback.  Find these here, and here.
